The fascinating story by Blair Peters of Austria's last Emperor, a brief rule during WWI and the 1918 settlement which carved up the Empire. It saw the birth of the new nations in Eastern Europe and, like comets, new micro states which were quickly absorbed by their hungry neighbours. Around 20 postal services in Poland, eight in Ukraine, various in Romania, Venezia Giulia and Fiume in nothern Italy. All illustrated in colour, with stamps, viewcards and maps.
